SOPHIE PARROTT CDG

ABOUT SOPHIE
After graduating from Bristol University with a joint first-class Bachelor’s degree in English and Drama, Sophie went on to attend the Central School of Speech and Drama where she gained a Master's degree with Distinction in Classical Acting, specialising in Shakespeare Studies. Upon graduating, Sophie deferred a PhD scholarship in order to explore more vocational options within the industry... she never went back!
She initially worked for Casting Directors Carol Dudley CDG and Alison Chard CDG before spending three years working for the theatrical agency, Scott Marshall Partners Ltd.
This invaluable experience in the field of agenting equipped her for a return to casting. After another three years in-house as a part of the BBC Casting Department - both as Casting Assistant and as a Casting Director - Sophie then moved on to work in a freelance capacity. Over the next few years she worked as an Assistant and Associate for various established TV and Film Casting Directors, before eventually setting up as a freelance Casting Director in her own right, specialising in theatre and television.
Sophie regularly provides audition technique training and assesses examination modules for various UK accredited drama schools, including LAMDA; the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) and The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (CSSD).
Sophie has been working in the industry for more than a decade and is a full member of The Casting Director's Guild of Great Britain (The CDG). She is based in London but frequently works in the North of England.
Sophie is represented by Kat Oliver at Conway Van Gelder Grant - please get in touch with Kat to request a full CV or check Sophie's availability (details on the contact page).
