Over the last decade, Sophie has worked in a freelance capacity working with/for various established Casting Directors on a range of high profile projects for companies including Sky, Amazon UK and Worldwide, HBO and Channel 4.  This work spans both comedy and drama.

Sophie previously trained in-house as part of the BBC Casting Department for three years; assisting John Cannon CDG and Liz Stoll, as well as Casting Executive, Julia Crampsie CDG, before working as a Casting Director in her own right on the series, DOCTORS, for BBC 1.

Whilst at the BBC, Sophie worked as Casting Assistant on a range of projects, including THE NIGHT WATCH (Anna Maxwell Martin, Claire Foy), WPC56; MR STINK (Hugh Bonneville, Sheridan Smith) and four series of HOLBY CITY.

She was also involved in the development of ‘The Company’ –  ‘a BBC initiative  looking to both increase the level of disabled people on television and to help develop the careers of individual talented actors that struggle in an industry has frequently excluded them.’

Sophie is also experienced in casting music videos and short films - recent work includes a music video for Olly Murs for Stitch That TV, and a film installation of THE SECRET AGENT for world-renowned visual artist Stan Douglas.
